The pressing plant Quality Record Pressings is part of the company group of Chad Kassem, just like the label Analogue Productions or the mail order company Acoustic Sounds. The pressing plant in Salina, Kansas, is equipped with presses from various manufacturers such as SMT, Toolex Alpha and Finebilt.
Old pressing machines are improved with new technology
Since no new presses have been manufactured for many years, they had to be extensively restored. In the process, the traditional machines were upgraded with modern technologies.
For example, microprocessors are used to improve quality control during the pressing process. Great importance is attached to a constant temperature of the presses and the vinyl. According to QRP engineers, overheated vinyl is often the cause of poor-sounding and defective records.
